$100 million, but it’s NOT a castle?

If castles were back in 2015...

What’s up, friends?

March has almost come to an end -which means we’re basically 25% done with 2026! Time flies when you’re exploring crazy homes 🤪🏡

For today’s edition, we’re headed to the West Coast for a pristine, clean, and humongous home, titled The Sand Castle.

Built in 2015, this La Jolla, CA property has 10 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, and 13k sqft. of space. With the price tag of $92 million, you’ll be on one of the only on-property private beaches. Plus, your private pool is salt water -so to compliment the “real stuff” in the nearby Pacific.

After passing through the private driveway, we reach the private, paved courtyard. I mean… this is like we’re entering Versailles: grand lighting, an artisanal walkway, and a darn trimmed bush!

Inside, this place continues to turn into the picture of opulence. The ceilings and window trim and seating and floors and paintings and railings, oh my!

Holy cow… take in this luxuriously dining room:

Staff Quarters: I think this house has them. That’s because this kitchen is bare, in comparison to the rest of the home. It just feels very out of place.

Not out of place, but very different, are the multiple bedrooms in this place has got in store.

While the listing only has a few of the 10 bedrooms photographed, their color palettes are the only thing they have in common. Why does one bedroom look like the wealthy rooms on the Titanic, while the other was bought fresh off Wayfair? Both are great options, but from completely different decades and styles. It’s just an odd choice.

No notes on the bathrooms. They make you feel like royalty, and that’s all you really need from a bathroom! Especially when your private ocean views begin just a few steps away:

Waves crash your balcony… the salt in your hair… the wind GUSTS in your face… it’s breathtaking.

Of course, there are a few other amenities on this property: a wooden office, room for phone calls (I think?), and a home gym.

At this point, we’ve taken at least 1k steps around this mansion, so I think we’ve earned a trip to the FIRST bar. It’s cozy, dim, and a great setting for intimate get-togethers. But, simultaneously, I feel like I’m in a claustrophobic boat’s lower cabin.

Luckily, for us, there’s a secondary bar in this home. It’s more of a modern, chic restaurant vibe with views of the ocean.

Well, since we’ve had a drink (or two), I think it’s the perfect time to head outside…

Archways lining the pool? It’s like we’re at a private resort -all we need is a cabana.

You’ll get the best of both worlds, in this house. You can be in the calm pool or the beautiful ocean. Also, you can be poolside or oceanside, with your private ocean access:

Lining the coast of California are six lounge chairs with a pristine view of the ocean’s horizon. But if you’d rather not lounge, then you can dine next to the waves instead:

With this kind of beach access, at least you won’t have to fear sand blowing into your food.

Honestly, I’m still in shock with how wealthy, luxury, and classy that house was. Maybe, if we ask the new owners really nicely, they’ll let us swim in the pool.
