Alone. Secluded. In Idaho.

What’s up, friends?

Sometimes you view a home and think “I’ve seen this before, but I don’t know where”. For this home, it was easy: it looks like every single modern-yet-secluded home in present-day thriller movies. 

And that, in my opinion, is terrifying.

Built in 2024, this Idaho-based property boats 5 bedrooms (including a guest home), 2.5 acres of land, and a whopping $2.1 million price tag.

For such an eye-catching exterior, you’d think there would be an entrance to match the sleek-ness. But no.

Inside, the home instead plays with the same earth tones that surround the property. With wooden ceilings and floors (akin to the exterior paneling), the rest of the space is full of complimentary colors: a dark black from the countertop marble, tall walls of white, and a pastel army green lining the wall-length cabinetry. 

Don’t forget about the long window emphasizing the view.

That view is also prominent in the living room. It’s so prominent that… nothing else is currently in the room. Besides the ominous dark modern-but-antique-looking fireplace. 

Aren’t listing photos supposed to help me imagine myself living there? 

This is helping me imagine what the home will look like as I move out and dramatically walk through the empty home one more time, recounting the horrors that occurred between these (sometimes very narrow) walls. 

White and red tile shower? So are we trying to evoke The Shining? The Substance?

And this pill-shaped bathroom mirror looks great in this space… but is also a bit reminiscent of the sleek-yet-sterile bathrooms in modern thriller movies…

Speaking of thrillers, saunas are typically not safe spaces in those stories.  

Jokes aside, being in a warm sauna while overlooking the vast snow around you would be very calming. And a touch… unsettling.

Across the outdoor pathway, the guest home awaits you; It’s the unassuming sister-home Airbnb that the unassuming home owners guide you over to. You thank them for their hospitality, but notice how their smiles tend to linger…

Oddly, this part of the property is furnished. 

And the hallways are just as narrow.

At least the bedroom has a view… of the scariest looking shed I’ve ever seen.

 I think I’m ready to go back home now.
