Bigger in Texas. Longer in NY.

The cows are normal sized, though.

What’s up, friends?

Today’s home has brought us to farm country! This elongated farmhouse spans nearly 7k sqft. on over 31 acres -and while they say everything is bigger in Texas… We're not in Texas. This is New York, baby.

Located on the border of New York and Massachusetts, this 2016 property has 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and a price tag of $12.5 million. Within the +31 acres, there’s an actual farmhouse with livestock, fencing, and 6 acres designated as “equestrian [or] hobby farm” which… farming as a “hobby” sounds like a wealthy person thing.

Besides the obvious privacy, there’s a security gate and an on-site generator in case you need to go off-the-grid. Speaking of grids, let’s make our way inside to see some eclectic patterns…

Upon entering, we’re greeted with lines, colors, and textures galore. It has the rustic feel of rural living, with the polish of modern design.

Standouts for me: the textile rug, fossil-like table, yellow accent wall, and the sliding blue barnyard doors  that lead right to…

The kitchen! Here, the same blue covers the cabinetry with wooden accents:

Further into the space, we see it opens up to the dining and living room. Plus, there’s a little bar.

Nothing can ground us in the reality of farm living like a white basin sink and (more than) a few taxidermied deer heads on the mantle.

Let’s venture a bit deeper into this long, long, loooong home -cuz we’ve barely brushed the surface!

Moo! The primary bedroom prominently features a colorful painting of a cow… which does serve as a hint as what’s to come…

Connected via an interior hallway, the bathroom ensuite and home office are tucked away for privacy. And, yes, it should be a crime to put a shower out in the open like that.

Though, I am a big fan of that green tilework.

Upstairs, the secondary bedrooms take in even more sunlight with wider views.

But downstairs, in the basement, the sunshine is swiftly replaced with grey, concrete, and fluorescent lighting.

Oh, you thought this home tour was over? WRONG. Let’s go to the guest house!

Across the beautifully laid stone driveway we enter another private space: the quaint, attached guest home. It’s here that some of the design choices make me question the year this home is from… like why are we pairing wood panels with striped couches in 2016? Is it 1995?

After all this perusing, we need some relaxation -and some fresh air:

Wanna chat near a firepit? Got it. Want to lounge near a fireplace? Got it. Want to lounge in a lengthy infinity pool? Got that too.

Actually, let’s skip the “R&R” and get some milk…

Cuz there’s COWS!! Outside the actual farmhouse is a pen full of beautiful cows. The pasture almost looks like a stock image.

You thought the main house was long… the property itself is even longer…

As the sun sets on the farm, I think we should part with it also. It’s been fun, but, personally, I’d rather live somewhere less secluded. And with less cow poop.
