It’s Perfect for a Mermaid Wedding

What’s up, friends?

You know how humans don’t have gills? Like how we require oxygen to breathe? Well, with that in mind, please explain to me why people want to literally live “on the water” in today’s catastrophe…

Located in a marina in Palmetto, Florida, this houseboat was recently remodeled into a home -after existing as a floating chapel for many years. The original build and remodel totaled over $1.3 million for a space that’s just over 1000 sq. feet of livable space.

Despite the remodel, some aspects have clearly been untouched for ”curb” appeal… they’re just not appealing to me.

Undeniably, this used to be a chapel. In fact, it looks as if it may still be a chapel. From the inside, though, the gothic front door frames the space with the complimentary wooden features around. It’s a luxurious design for a quaint home.

Typical granite is in a typical kitchen, shocker! Some of the many hurricane-proof stained glass windows line the walls to provide a colorful pour of light in the room.

Because when you turn around to face the other half of the open-concept space…

It’s an even prettier backdrop for some quality family time. And although the small wooden door feels out of place, it’s an awesome original feature of the property! 

Also on the main floor is the primary bedroom and en-suite. Not only do you get a few of the custom stained glass pieces, but also some cute porthole-like windows to tie the spaces together.

Let's head upstairs -and admire the unique beams that line the ceiling!

Underneath the geometric arches is a loft space with a bedroom and small living space.

While the architecture is intriguing, it feels a little cramped with the lack of windows; It’s almost as if the ceiling is concaving on you.

At the end of a long day, relaxing outside with the waves beneath you would be nice.
