It’s getting hot in here...

Plants need too much sun. And water.

What’s up, friends?

Happy Memorial Day ☀️ I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday week full of leisure, good vibes, and a whole lot of sunshine. You’ll need to be accustomed to the sun before you step into today’s humid home:

It’s full of plants. It’s full of concrete. And it’s in Canton, CT.

Built in 1979, this 3-bed, 4-bath property has 5.7k sqft. of space, on a 10.17 acre lot. From the exterior, it’s clear there’s something up about this house -in a kooky way, not a scary way (unless you’re scared of the color blue) Sitting on the market just shy of $900k, there’s a lot of sights to see in this home -so how about we just jump right in?

Upon entering, you might think this home has become one with the forest that surrounds it. But no. The mossy green tiled floor and tree bark brown wardrobe are merely facets to the entire atmosphere of this place. Leaves are popping out of corners. The staircase is bold and spiral. And the ceilings are high and pointed.

Similar to nature, this home has a very open concept. Yeah, it’s got material of different types (wood, stone, concrete jungle), leafy plants all over the place, and a path that winds through it all.

If anything, it’s more like a jungle in here. There’s so many huge windows to keep the plants lit… it’s getting warm. Can we turn the AC on?

Completely obsessed, I am, with those TALL windows. They makes these spaces feel huge, and I bet the plants love them too.

Follow the yellow brick r- I mean, follow the green tile path to the -beautifully framed- dining room!

In my humble opinion, the lead up to this dining area is better than the table and chairs themselves.

That drop in ceiling height is really felt here. Like now I’m claustrophobic.

Don’t fret though! The kitchen’s got space for days: a triangular island, countertops lining said island, and dark cabinetry to contrast all those countertops.

Before we head upstairs, there’s one more room I’d like to show you…

Get to workin’ in this sleek home office! The diagonal woodwork on the floor matches the woodwork on the ceiling. And while the only earthy tones in here are, well, brown, it almost creates a cozy cabin-like vibe. Plus, with those huge windows, the sunlight will keep your mind active and motivated.

As we make our way upstairs, I tell you to “stop and take a look at this place.”

You take in the artistic marvel of this home. The lines are clean. The colors are simple, yet poignant -which makes the decor pop even more.

And now… welcome to my favorite part of this house: the bathroom.

Here, all the architectural features of this home come together. We’ve got those high ceilings are an angle, creating a spa-feel above the black-tiled bathtub. Nearby, the standing shower is lit from, again, huge windows. There’s just such a cohesion to the room that I love.

Of course, in the secondary bathrooms, the same textile and color design features are used.

Secondary bedrooms here… they’re passable, I guess.

Outside, we can take in the view -whether that mean the greenery around the home, or the home itself:

As I’m not a fan of barren trees, I prefer to look at the home. But that’s just me!

What a cute, secluded home to be one with art and nature all at once. You could celebrate a calm Memorial Day, or just the fact that your neighbors are nowhere near you. Either way, sounds like a grand ‘ole time.
