NYE Ball Drop is Your Backyard
Just look down.
What’s up, friends?
Typically, we review catastrophes around here, but I want just this week to be different.
Let’s end this year on a high note, at a high-rise penthouse in New York City!
Not only does this corner unit literally overlook Times Square, but its interior recently underwent a $2 million renovation from Italian craftsmanship. Despite the 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and modest-sized living area, it’s the details that make this place shine.
For example, you could watch the New Year’s ball drop from the comfort of your home. But not on the TV, through your window.
Building amenities include: “a putting green, virtual golf room, fully-equipped conference center, entertainment lounge, [and] fitness center”.
Plus, its price recently dropped down a million to only $4.5 million.
This wouldn’t be a living room without gold-plated finishing and deep blue sofas, would it? Pair that with the exquisite floorwork around the rug to feel like you’re royalty.
Rich people and their lives… what do you think they actually do in this space? My guess is dinner parties, but everyone must wear shoe covers and lint-roll their place on the couch when they get up.
Would I be the worst if I said I thought the kitchen looked a bit dated? Like I know it was handcrafted, but I still feel haunted by the oversaturation of 2000s Tuscan kitchens. I do love the crown moulding, custom drapery, and stove. Each is beautiful in its own right, but they fit together so seamlessly.
Now, we’re going to look at each bathroom. Why? Because here it’s worth it.
The two en-suites look nothing alike, yet share the same (valid) charisma. Attached to the primary bedroom, this bathroom has a stark look with the gold-on-black (which you will soon see is the opposite of its counterpart). A Versace emblem on the floor helps cement the tone (just in case the black walls weren’t clear).
Off of the secondary bedroom, this bathroom has glasswork reminiscent of Van Cleef. Its artistry and seriousness make it a perfect combo of the other two bathrooms. Speaking of…
Did the designer skimp out on the half-bath? Not at all.
Look at that mosaic! The matching floor and light fixture suit the theming perfectly, making for a unique space that all works cohesively. Seriously, this mosaic is probably my favorite that we’ve seen on Hometasrophes -and it’s in a tiny bathroom!
As we travel to the secondary bedroom, through the impeccable hallway, you’ll notice the same gold paneling seen on each door. And, again, wow I love that blue color.
Green in a blue home… is EVERYTHING. This velvety shade, again, is such a great backdrop for the gold accents -that kinda makes the space look like a painting. I imagine this is how all bedrooms look in the Emerald City, including the curtains to frame the world as your stage.
Peeking through your bed curtains, outside the window of the primary bedroom is the Times Square Sign. What?! Your view is glorified with the pristine whites, golds, and even that expensive-looking upholstered chair.
Finally, the terrace: long enough to fit an entire couch out there. You could drink your coffee, chat with friends, or just take in how tiny everyone looks down below.
I wish you all a happy and healthy 2025. See you in the new year!
If you had this penthouse for New Year’s Eve, how would you celebrate? |
See you next week,
