Paris, where you least expect it
Bonjour, Midwest!
What’s up, friends?
Today, we’re gonna hop on a flight and take this review INTERNATIONAL!!
I think I see the Eiffel Tower… so keep your seatbelt fastened because we’re about to land in a European marvel…
Wait. Guys, I think this is just Minnesota.

Located in Minneapolis, this 1877 “historic registered townhome has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and over $3 million in renovations. While it’s barely 1.8k sq. ft. for a price tag of $656k, its French 2nd Empire styling brings it to another level.

Stepping into the foyer, through the 8-foot doors, you’re greeted by hand-painted 10-foot walls depicting scenes outside the Palace of Versailles. This artwork immediately makes you feel like you’ve been transported elsewhere… far, far away from Midwest USA.

Take the first right into this Parisian living room… and by “Parisian” I mean there’s a chandelier with aged wallpaper. Don’t get me wrong -this space is nice… but it doesn’t seem that French.

I never claimed to be a European design expert though, right?

Don’t let the aged French aesthetic fool you, this kitchen has all the amenities: authenticated chandeliers, copper-stamped ceiling tiles, walk-in pantry, custom backsplash, updated high-end appliances.

Velvet-clad green walling don this luxurious bathroom. And now that this type of decor isn’t popular, I feel like it’s too pretty to use. Like I don’t want my excrement tainting the beauty of this space!

Feeling a bit cramped in these condensed rooms? No biggie! This office-slash-living-room gives you plenty of room to lay out:

While the innards of this space give “European cottage,” instead of “Parisian palace,” what if we traveled to another continent?

I guess we’re in Asia.
The Soji-inspired screen doors, metal work, and marble floors come together for a space that evokes many Asian countries. In a similar vein of the French aspect of the home, it’s leaning in a cultural direction… but I’m not sure it’s accurately portraying anything at all.

Oh, this bathtub is awesome. Atop slabs of decorative stone, the dragon faucet was carved from a singular slab. Also a part of this en-suite is a steam shower, lantern light covers, and themed walls.

Below the home rests this sublevel of various handcrafted ornaments: the painted ceilings, the wooden archways, woven lattice, and stone waterfall feature.

At the same time, though, it gives the same liminal space vibe that a normal unfinished basement does -expect this one tacked a few expensive decorations to the wall.
Let’s head outside to see what nature has to add to this property…

Well, this patio is definitely more minimalist than the rest of the home.
Despite the lack of space, the limited dirt portion is maximized with florals, greenery, and even your own tree! Plus, when the Midwest winters roll around, you’ve got plenty of storage space in your 2-car garage:

From the front porch, you can’t knock this quaint view!

And just over the water is downtown Minneapolis: full of culture and life -just like this house!

No matter where this home wishes it was, you can’t deny its beauty inside and out. I guess it’s a testament to living life how you want -because I’ve never heard someone group European artistry with the Midwest… until now.
